On Friday, January 25, 2019 The Winston School San Antonio is hosting its 29th Annual Learning Symposium, the region’s leading event of its kind, presenting the latest information and ideas on childhood learning, development and education. This year’s theme is Child Development in a Digital World. Keynote Speaker, Dr. Kavari Subrahmanyam, will present “Growing Up Digital: Is Living, Learning and Communicating with Technology Transforming Youth Development?”
Located in San Antonio, Texas, the Winston Annual Learning Symposium attracts over 400 educators, parents, physicians and other community specialists who gather to hear informative presentations from leaders in their respective fields. Nine additional breakout sessions will cover: ADHD, Technology & Social Development, Marketable Tech Skills, Robotics/ STEAM, Technology in the Classroom, Social Media, Educational Tech, Technology and Dyslexia, and the Effects of Video Gaming. There is also a 3-hour Ethics Panel discussion on Raising Digital Citizens. CEU and CME credits are available for this event.
Winston’s Headmaster, Dr. Charles J. Karulak Ed.D. said, “ Our annual symposium provides the community with cutting-edge research and information about the best practices for educating children—it helps extend Winston’s reach by providing information to parents, teachers and healthcare professionals from across the state.”
Winston parent, Jill C. said, “This is my personal favorite and the most valuable event I have ever attended. It is designed for all those working with, or parenting kids with learning differences, and all that it entails. This event brings together an extensive wealth of knowledge and expertise on child development and learning. Through audience participation and networking, I continually learn new techniques, ideas and approaches that enable me to better understand and work with my own children. I haven’t missed one yet!”
